CARMA held its first Co-Design Session!

Last Thursday, December 12, and Friday, December 13, the CARMA project held its first Co-Design Session at INESC ID HQ in Lisbon, bringing together end-users and experts to collaborate on enhancing search and rescue operations with innovative technologies.

The workshop proved to be a remarkable space for sharing real-world experiences and challenges. End-users actively recreated and analyzed their rescue operations across four diverse scenarios using a variety of tools and props. These hands-on activities led to invaluable insights into the phases of their operations and the types of real-time information required by First Responders (FR) to improve efficiency and coordination between the field and Command Centers.

Through collaboration, the session helped define the critical data flows and technical features necessary to process raw sensor data into actionable information. These insights pave the way for implementing AI-driven solutions and refining operational paradigms, particularly in scenarios where Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) play a crucial role.

Stay tuned as we continue these activities to develop and shape the future of search and rescue operations!
